How to start?
Everything starts with a simple decision. If we recognise that we find something wrong, if we do not want to support it, then we can stop doing so right now. If established social media is abusing us for profit, then just stop using their products, stop feeding them.
Taking responsibility begins by not closing our eyes when reality is hard to endure. Only if we become aware of what we haven't been seeing, can we change what we don't want, can we take responsibility for what we haven't taken it yet. While our entire digital communication may now depend on mega corporations, this is no necessity. More digital independence and freedom is possible. We only have to choose and be ready to endure a little bit of inconvenience in order to overcome the convenient slavery which we have navigated ourselves into.
They hold us captive to mine our communication for data and to sell us useless stuff. In many cases our data ends up in the hands of autocratic regimes that turn them against us as they wish. If you aren't fond of this idea then do something about it by starting with yourself.
In course of time we want to use this website to inform you about the dangers of social media, the technocrats running them and the digital surveillance associated with it, collect research on the topic and provide you with simple and practical guidance.
